FAITH-BASED

Permaculture Design Certificate

Build Resilience. Restore Creation. Grow Closer to God.

Starts November 21, 2025

Alive Wesleyan Church | Central, South Carolina

A Course Rooted

in Faith and Stewardship

This program brings together the science of permaculture and the truth of Scripture to show how God’s design for creation reveals His wisdom.

You’ll learn how natural systems—water, soil, plants, and people—work together the way He intended.

Each concept comes from The Permaculture Designers Manual by Bill Mollison and is applied through hands-on training in South Carolina.

You’ll study, observe, and design within living examples of regenerative systems at Alive Wesleyan Church, the Seneca Treehouse Project, and nearby farms.

Every class deepens both skill and spirit.

By the end, you’ll understand that caring for creation is more than sustainability—it’s worship through stewardship.

Why It Matters

When we align with God’s design, the Earth provides in abundance.

This course equips believers to restore land, feed communities, and share sustainable wisdom.

Together, we’ll complete a design for the Alive Wesleyan Church property—a model other churches can follow to integrate food forests and community gardens that feed both body and spirit.

Who It's For

Homesteaders and farmers who want to work with creation

Believers and church leaders ready to live their faith through stewardship

Families and individuals seeking resilience and self-sufficiency

Anyone who feels called to restore the Earth through God’s design

Certification Path

Step 1. Foundations of Faith & Design

Learn the Language of Creation

Begin your journey with the core ethics and principles of permaculture, anchored in Scripture.

Understand how God’s design for nature forms the blueprint for sustainable systems that heal the land.

Step 2. Hands-On Learning in the Field

Experience Creation Firsthand

Spend time at Alive Wesleyan Church, the Seneca Treehouse Project, and local regenerative farms.

You’ll see water systems, soil regeneration, and food forestry in action while practicing design techniques yourself.

Step 3. Design Project

& Community Collaboration

Build a Real-World Blueprint

Work with your peers to design a 44-acre church property that integrates food forests, grazing systems, and community gardens.

Your design will become a model other churches can follow across the world.

Step 4. Certification & Lifetime Access

Graduate as a Certified Permaculture Designer

Earn your Permaculture Design Certificate, receive lifetime access to class recordings, and gain the confidence to design regenerative systems anywhere.

Certification requires students to submit an individual design project in addition to the group design for the 44‑acre church property
